Ecomom Gift Certificate Giveaway!
I am a huge fan of Plum Organics. I have raved about them on here before and I really, truly love their product. Even as an (almost) two year old Hendrix still noms on there on the regular. They are great to throw in a back pack and go! His fav is the Just Mangoes. You can pick them up at Whole Foods, Target, and Babys R Us, or you can snag them on Ecomom.com. Ecomom sells TONS of great stuff, from toys to food to baby gear for the eco conscious consumer (aka ME) I bought Henry's really cute play kitchen, some way basics organizers, and toys on Ecomom. **I want to ad that I purchased them on my own account, they were not gifted to me. I really do love their store**

Plum Organics has some brand new flavors out. they were kind enough to send some for Hendrix to sample and I am happy tor report they were all a hit. He devoured the banana!!
I am also happy to report that I am hosting a giveaway for 15$ Ecomom gift card. You can use it to buy food from Plum Organics or anything else on the Ecomom site!. All you have to do to enter is go HERE and leave a comment telling me your favorite item on Ecomom.com! This ccontest is open to USA and Canada residents only.

Nursery Tour and Cafe Press Giveaway
I am so excited to finally be posting Hendrix's nursery/our bedroom. Our home has three bedrooms but we currently have the third bedroom as our closet (and of course the second bed is for C) so we have been sharing. This works for us because while Henry starts his nights in his crib we co-sleep for the remainder of the night when he wakes for a feeding around midnight. We really like co-cleeping and love sharing a space with Hendrix. He has a play room and I have a large studio/office so I dont feel like there is a lack of our own space in our home.
Hendrix's bedding is from Ikea, the red/blue knit blanket was found in a thrift store and his white blanket was made my great-aunt. I made the blue pillow and all the stuffed animals were gifted.
The seal lamp is from Urban Outfitters and is one of the more expensive piece in the room. i bought it on sale for 20 bucks. I made the piece of art (if you can call it that) using dollar bin magnetic letters and a cheapo canvas from the craft store. I think it cost a whopping 6 bucks to make.
I am pretty frugal and the dresser and red rocker were both 5 dollars each at yard sales and our afghan was a dollar! The prints above Henry's bed were only 2 dollars each!
We collected art for the picture wall for months. We found a really cute vintage Little Golden Book at a thrift store but it was badly water damaged so I salvaged what I could and put those pages into dollar store frames. We hung up family photo booth pictures, a painting made by Michael for me for our 1st wedding anniversary, a Coral and Tusk embroidered print, a little picture made by C of his two teeny finger prints from years ago, and my favorite, the Vintage Dino Print from Cafe Press. The beautiful robot pillow on our red rocker is from Cafe Press as well.
The cute little frog rug was a gift from close family friends and Henry just loves it. It is so soft. our crib was also gifted to us. It was purchased from target and turns into both a toddler bed and a full size.
The amazing print above our bed is a photo Michael took of Chicago O'Hara airport which we had put on a canvas by East Canvas Prints.
So now, let's get to the good stuff! I'm excited to announce that Cafe Press has generously offered two, yes! TWO, of my fabulous readers a chance to win a print or a pillow from Cafe Press. To clarify, one winner will get a print and the other will get a pillow of their choice. For those of you who don't know, Cafe Press has about a million different home goods and tee shirts. They make great gits and will customize a piece for you. I LOVE THEM. All you have to do is leave a comment here and check out Cafe Press's WEBSITE. i would love to hear what your favorite part of Henry's room is. Even your least favorite. I'd love to hear what you all think!
The contest will close on Friday at 6 PM and I will announce the winner on Monday morning.
I mean, does it get any cuter?
Good Luck!!

I Heart Cafe Press
Sooo I am very excited to announce that the nursery tour will be up within the next week! YAY! FINALLYYYYYYYY. The room is done, just waiting on the photographer to come in and snap some pics.
I ALSO (Yes, it gets better) will have a giveaway with Cafe Press posted the same day. Remember when we had one before? Well, this time it will be a bit different and if you can believe it this one will be EVEN BETTER.
Sorry about the caps but I'm excited.
In case you didn't already know, Cafe Press is a website filled to the tippity top with millions of
funny t-shirts and customized coffee mugs. All of which would make fantastic Mother’s Day gifts!
They have a huge selection of home goods which works great for me, since, as many of you know, I am currently redecorating our entire loft. The lovely people over at Cafe Press were so kind to send me a framed print and a pillow for Henry's lair. I gotta say I had the hardest time picking something out because they have about a gazillion different options. I could literally spend hours going through all their gifts and posters and shirts and home goods and well, you get the idea. I thought I would share with you some of my fav prints...
Prints R-L
Alice and Cheshire Cat Print
Be Unique Print
I Can Fly Print
Giraffe Kiss Print

Mixbook Giveaway!!
I have been working diligently on a one year book for Hendrix. I thought it would take me weeks but thanks to Mixbook.com it was really easy. You can check it out below. What do ya think?
The layouts, stickers, and background options were endless and the website was easy to navigate. I plan on using Mixbook to make books for each of Henry's years and I have already started making one for his big bro. It's simple, quick, and fun...YES, fun. I really enjoyed the whole process. Mixbook took out the mess and aggravation of regular scrap booking and made me feel all kinds of craft savvy. Usually I would lose my patience with something like this but it was a snap and the results make an amazing keepsake.
I am very excited to add that Mixbook will be giving away a free 20 page, 11x8.5 hardcover landscape photo books with free US ground shipping to one of my wonderful readers!!All you have to do is leave me a comment below. Want one more entry? Follow me on Twitter and tweet about this totally awesome contest. Leave me an additional comment telling me you did so. Easy peasy!
Enter before midnight Wednesday, December 8th. Random.org will pick the winner Thursday morning.
Also! If you order a Mixbook now you can get 50% off if you order before midnight (PST) on Wednesday: CYBERSALE
By the way, I was compensated with a free 20-page photo book in exchange for this promotion. However, I loved it so darn much i upped it to about 50 pages and am shelling out the dough from my own pockets. I'm a huge fan of Mixbook and all of these opinions are mine.

Plum Organics & Boon Spoon Giveaway and Review!
Since Hendrix has been introduced to solid foods I have been making all my own baby food. At first I was all excited 'cause I would bake a couple apples, throw 'em in a blender and voila! homemade baby food. I got all psyched and started running around acting like I was the Martha Stewart of the puree scene.
The problem is I don't have the time to keep up with all this baby food making and more importantly when you are out and about trying to rush around doing errands and what not, how on earth are you supposed to thaw out the frozen baby food? This has been a major pain in my keister.
In comes Plum Organics Baby Food.
Okay, first off let me just say that I tend to stay away from reviews because i'm scared that i'll run into a product that I don't like and how awkward is that? I was especially nervous about that because im a huge baby food snob. So I was reluctant but in an effort to find something Smoosh loved and I didn't have to feel guilty about I signed us up for a review. I thought Plum Organics could possibly be the solution to my problem.
| |
Well, boy is it ever! Plum Organics is INSANELY yummy. We (and I mean we because I don't give Hendrix anything I, myself, wouldn't eat and I taste everything he does) loved every flavor. The Just Peaches is heaven. Hendrix literally snorted like a pig while trying to inhale this stuff. I could have eaten the whole thing myself. We were practically fighting over it. The Just Mangoes is a tasty little treat and the Spinach, Peas, & Pear sounds kinda crazy but was super delish.
Now, on to the best part. The genius's over at Boon and Ecomom teamed up and created a spoon attachment that screws right on top of the Plum Organics Baby Food pouch and you give a lil squeeze and the spoon is flooded with the puree. Holy convenience, Batman! I fed Hendrix with one hand at his brother's baseball game, a Starbucks after a long day at the beach, at the park, while mini golfing, and by the pool during a weekend getaway to Martha's Vineyard. I really can not go on enough about how much I love this product. By far my favorite discovery for Hendrix to date. No joke.
Everything on the Ecomom website is reasonably priced and they even offer a new program called the EcoPass which allows EcoMom Customers to purchase a $99 Annual Membership, which provides a 15% discount on every order, as well as enjoy free shipping with no $75 minimum order requirement. To sign up you can visit their website and be sure to check out all their other eco friendly baby products. They have lots of fun gear and keep in mind they don't make just baby food but awesome snacks and meals for the older set as well. So for you lunchbox packers and toddler wranglers there is something for you as well!
So my lovely Just By Living readers I am psyched to announce that EcoMom is offering one of my lucky readers a chance to WIN $15 worth of Plum Organic or Revolution Foods Products! Whooo Hooo!!

Cafe Press Giveaway!

Check out Smoosh and I in our custom made tee's from Cafe Press!
Cafe Press is an online store filled with millions...seriously, millions of personalized gifts. You could pretty much go bonkers with all the different options. They have everything from aprons toonesies, teddy bears to posters, the choices are endless.
I went with a seahorse for Hendrix because it's kind of our family mascot. We have a thing for seahorses and they show up all over our house. Did you know seahorses are the only animal where the father carries the babes? (A little trivia for ya)
For me I got the adorable tee with "Keep Calm and Carry On" printed on the front. I think it's a good motto to remind me to chill with all the craziness in my life lately.
The tees are American Apparel and super soft and I even washed them to be sure they wouldn't fade and they came out looking like a million bucks.
I'm giving away two tees to a lucky reader! One for you and one for your kiddo! The best part? You get to choose any two you like!

To enter all you have to do is help promote JustByLiving by leaving a comment and posting on your Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, or blog about how much you love us here at JBL with a link to our site. Do all four and you get four entries...or three, or two, or one...you get the idea. Then email me and the Smooshter at Justbyliving@gmail.com and show us. The winner will be chosen at random and the contest ends on Sunday April 18th ( Hendrix's 6 month mini bday)!
Oh and P.S. Cafe Press is having a giveaway of their own in celebration of Earth Day. It's a photo contest and they are giving away all kinds of goodies including bags designed by Studio Number One which is owned by Obey founder Shepard Fairey and an Eco Vacation in St. Thomas at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Spa and Resort (uuuh, yes please!)
Good Luck Everyone!!!
